A 29-year-old Vancouver, British Columbia, woman charged with impaired driving is proof that more and more residents are providing tips to police about drunk drivers, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

Officers in the Espanola area were alerted to a possible impaired driver after one motorist reported seeing a vehicle fail to stop at a red light at the Highway 6 and Highway 17 junction.

Police located the vehicle shortly after 7 p.m. near Massey. The driver was found to have been drinking and was arrested.

The OPP encourages the public to call police by dialling 911, or call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 if they observe a possible impaired driver. It's a call that may very well save a life.
