In hospital with non-life threatening injuries

By: Sudbury Northern Life Staff

Three teenagers were taken to hospital last night, following a collision at the intersection of Municipal Road 80 and Dominion Drive in Valley East.

Around 11 p.m. Oct. 13, a 16-year-old girl, who was driving a Ford Focus, had turned left into the path of an oncoming Chevrolet Cobalt, which was being driven by a 19-year-old girl, on Municipal Road 80.

The Sudbury Fire Department had to extract the driver of the Cobalt and a passenger in the Focus was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the collision.

Both drivers were treated and released from Health Sciences North. The 17-year-old female passenger remains at hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Focus has been charged with making an unsafe left turn under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. Alcohol was not a factor in this collision.
