Stolen school bus found torched

Sometime shortly after 3 a.m. on Oct. 14, a school bus was stolen from a bus lot located in Capreol.

The thief or thieves did not leave the lot with just the school bus, Greater Sudbury Police report. They also left behind a mess in several other busses after discharging the contents of fire extinguishers inside the vehicles that remained on the lot.

The bus was located the next morning about 200 feet in the bush off Colette Street in Hanmer. It had been destroyed by fire.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in this matter.
