A woman known by police to be a suspended driver on probation was charged with a number of driving-related offences after being pulled over early Oct. 22, according to Greater Sudbury Police Service.

While conducting community patrols, officers in the area of Falconbridge Road observed a vehicle with no rear lights and only daytime running lights on travelling north at about 3 a.m. The driver was travelling at 50 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The woman driver, known to police as a disqualified and suspended driver on probation, had no permit for the vehicle she was driving. She failed to provide proper insurance, and officers smelled alcohol on her breath, according to a news release.

She has been charged with driving while disqualified, driving while suspended, driving with no permit, failing to surrender an insurance card, failing to provide a breath sample, failing to comply with an undertaking and breach of probation.
