The quick thinking of a concerned citizen helped the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) catch an impaired driver Oct. 26.

Members of the Sudbury OPP detachment received information about a possible impaired driver in the Lively area shortly before 12:45 a.m. Officers patrolled the area, and the vehicle was located in the lot of a local business.

Police allege the driver had been drinking and was arrested after failing a roadside test.

An 18-year-old Naughton man has been charged with impaired driving and will appear in Sudbury court on Nov. 14.

The OPP encourages anyone who encounters a suspected impaired driver to dial 911. For more information about impaired driving go to the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) website at www.madd.ca.
