A 22-year-old Elliot Lake woman faces three counts of uttering forged documents after allegedly cashing fraudulent cheques, said the Ontario Provincial Police.

Officers were called to an Elliot Lake business Oct. 30 regarding a possible theft. An investigation revealed the accused had allegedly cashed fraudulent cheques. She was located and arrested, and is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on Jan. 8. She is also charged with theft.

Anyone with information regarding criminal activities is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). Any information that leads to the arrests or identity of persons responsible can lead to a cash reward. You can remain anonymous and crime stoppers do not subscribe to call display.
