Some area roads, and in particular bridges and overpasses, are extremely icy throughout the city, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Bridges and overpasses lack the insulation of the ground underneath them and freeze up sooner than the rest of the road ways, police warned.

Drivers are cautioned to slow down and use care.
