Police received a call on Nov. 3 regarding a possible theft, and officers started patrolling the city. At 7:07 p.m., officers received a call about a driver who failed to remain at the scene of a motor-vehicle collision. The description of the suspect vehicle matched the description of the stolen vehicle.

Through patrols, officers located the vehicle on Mississauga Avenue. The vehicle was stopped and police confirmed the suspect vehicle was the stolen vehicle.

The teen has been charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent, driving without a licence and failing to remain.

She is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on Dec. 4. Her name will not be released under the jurisdiction of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
