A rally being organized by the North Shore Tribal Council to highlight cuts to the Community Maintenance and Startup Fund will result in traffic disruptions in the downtown, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

The rally begins at noon, and participants will march from the Sudbury Arena north onto Shaughnessy Street then onto Van Horne Street and Paris Street. The group will make its way to Cedar Street and gather outside MPP Rick Bartolucci's office.

Cedar Street between Lisgar Street and Durham Street will be closed for the length of the gathering. The rally is scheduled to end at approximately 2 p.m.

Greater Sudbury police officers will be present, working with organizers to ensure the safe and orderly movement of traffic and the rally participants.

To assist in minimizing the impact to citizens, anyone who plans on being in this area during the above time frame is encouraged to take an alternate route, if possible, said police.
