Police seize $4,500 in pot

A Sudbury man faces numerous Criminal Code, Drug and Highway Traffic Act charges after police seized three half-pound bags of marijuana worth about $4,500 on Dec. 24, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Police stopped a vehicle being operated by the suspect on Kathleen Street. Officers also seized $135 in cash, stolen items and a single canister of bear spray.

He is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, driving while under suspension, use of validation not furnished for the vehicle, windshield obstructed, fail to surrender a permit for motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle with no currently validated permit and failing to surrender an insurance card.
