No impaired charges laid on New Year's Eve

On what is one of the most likely nights of the year for people to drink and drive, police did not charge any drivers with impaired on New Year's Eve, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Officers checked 769 drivers after setting up spot checks at four different locations throughout the city. Nine demands were made for roadside screening tests and police issued one three-day suspension.

Those areas included Falconbridge Highway at The Kingsway, Brady Street at Larch Street, Paris Street at Long Lake Road and Regent Street near Algonquin Road.
