Severed cable disrupts 911 service in Walden area

A severed fibre-optic cable in the Lively area has resulted a disruption to the 911 services for land lines in Naughton, Whitefish and Beaver Lake, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Greater Sudbury Fire Services has deployed personnel to the fire halls in Lively, Naughton and Beaver Lake. Officers of the Greater Sudbury Police Service are in the Lively area on regular patrol.

It is not known at this time when 911 services will be restored to these areas.

In case of emergency, the numbers for the fire halls are as follows:
Black Lake Road, Lively – 705-692-3300
9th Avenue, Lively – 705-692-3278
Naughton – 705-866-2823
Beaver Lake – 705-866-0150
