An increase in thefts of snowmobiles and ATVs over the past few weeks has prompted a warning from Greater Sudbury Police Services to lock it or lose it.

The majority of these complaints have originated from the Lively and Dowling areas of Greater Sudbury, said police. Secure your vehicles; it goes a long way toward theft prevention.

Make it more difficult for thieves, police advise. Don’t leave your machines unlocked, unsecured or unattended. Do not leave keys in your vehicles or in a manner where thieves can start them and drive off. Secure them in a garage, a shed or an enclosed trailer that can be locked and immobilized.
