Big Nickel Mine Road crash results in minor injuries

By: Sudbury Northern Life Staff

An 18-year-old driver has been charged with careless driving after she allegedly caused a three-vehicle collision on Big Nickel Mine Road on Jan. 14 that caused minor injuries, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Officers responded to the collision at about 8 a.m. after a north-bound car attempted to pass a pickup truck and spun out of control, said police.

The car then crossed the centre line and hit a south-bound waste-haulage truck, which ended up in the ditch in an attempt to avoid the collision.

The crash closed the road for about 1.5 hours.
