Idle No More rally planned for today

An Idle No More rally will disrupt traffic in the downtown, said Greater Sudbury Police Service. Supporters of the Idle No More movement will be holding a planned march/rally beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Supporters of the Idle No More movement will be holding a planned march/rally beginning at 4:30 p.m. Participants will leave from the outdoor plaza at Tom Davies Square, travel south on Minto Street and then east on Van Horne Street to Paris Street.

From there, rally goers will continue north while in the northbound lanes on Paris Street and then travel west on Elm Street in the westbound lanes.

The group will conclude their march at the N’Swakamok Native Friendship Centre on Elm Street at approximately 6 p.m.

To assist in minimizing the impact to citizens, anyone who plans on being in this area during the above time frame is encouraged to take an alternate route, if possible, said police.
