A 52-year-old Elliot Lake woman has been identified by the Ontario Provincial Police as the victim of a fatal car crash on Highway 69 on Jan. 28.

Rosalind Tara Lee Foucault was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem was conducted yesterday, and the cause of death was “unsurvivable head and neck injuries,” according to a press release from the OPP.

The crash happened at 12:04 p.m. near Station Lane in Henvey Township. West Parry Sound OPP members arrived within minutes of the collision and were assisted by Parry Sound Ambulance and Britt Fire Department personnel.

Highway 69 was closed for about three hours during the initial investigation.

No charges are pending, said the OPP.

The OPP reminds the motoring public to drive according to road and weather conditions and to be aware of driver abilities and vehicle limitations.
