Two people face a variety of charges after police found them with stolen items and some crack cocaine, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.
Officers stopped a vehicle Barrydowne Road on Feb. 12 at noon, and found the 22-year-old woman driver and the 45 year old male passenger in possession of a gas-powered water pump and a child’s electronic game that was recently stolen from the nearby Wal-Mart.
A quantity of crack cocaine, valued at $60, and a cookware set stolen from a store in Val Caron were also found in the vehicle.
When officers tried to arrest the woman, she resisted by pulling away and trying to flee; however, she was apprehended without further incident.
Further investigation revealed that the woman was on a recognizance of bail with a condition to abstain from the possession of non-prescribed drugs. She was also on a probation order to keep the peace and remain away from the New Sudbury Shopping Centre.
The man was also found to be on probation at the time of the incident.
Both parties face charges of theft Under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance.
The woman is also charged with breach of recognizance, resisting arrest and drive with no licence.
