Of the 266 drivers stopped during Greater Sudbury Police Service RIDE checks on Feb. 15, one criminal code offence was handed out for a driver blowing over .80, and 12 highway traffic act offences were issued.  As a result, two licence suspensions were handed out — one three-day suspension and one seven-day suspension.

Outside the RIDE checks at Bancroft Drive, Brady at Broadway and Regent at Walford, a G2 driver was caught travelling 44 kilometers over the speed limit — police said he was under the influence of alcohol too. Breath tests revealed he was in the warn range. Since it was his second time receiving a three-day suspension for driving in the warn range, his licence was suspended for seven days.
