Police chased two teenagers and an adult through backyards Feb. 18 when they ran from officers who wanted to talk to them about a vehicle break-in near Westmount Avenue.

The three male suspects were seen by police around 3 a.m. in the area of a vehicle that was seen with its door ajar and its interior light on, said police. When officers tried to speak to the three suspects, they ran.

They were eventually detained in the backyard of a home on Attlee Street.

Each suspect was arrested for trespassing at night. A search yielded numerous items including GPS units, loose change, sunglasses, Canadian Tire money, a purse, alcoholic beverages and a small amount of marijuana.

All three suspects were taken to police headquarters. It was later learned that several other vehicles in the Westmount/Gemmell streets area were entered.

The two younger suspects were 17 years of age. Police didn't release the third suspect's age.

They are all charged with trespass by night, possession of property obtained by crime, breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance.

The adult suspect was also wanted by the Greater Sudbury Police for failing to appear for court.
