A tip from the public led to a 58-year-old woman being charged with impaired driving and blowing over 80.

During the morning of Feb. 26, Greater Sudbury Police received a call saying the woman had left a business in Val Caron, and was believed to be impaired by alcohol.

She was located in a nearby parking lot, where she provided a breath sample. The suspect was arrested after failing the breath test. Additional breath samples taken at police headquarters showed she was more than three times over the legal limit.

The suspect is due to appear in court March 6 to answer to the charges.
