The victim suffered minor injuries in the early morning assault. He said a white four-door car pulled up beside him, and three suspects jumped out of the car, one of whom was brandishing a knife.
They attacked him, kicking and punching him, causing abrasions and cuts to his legs, face, nose and ear.
They then went through his pockets looking for money, but he had none and they left.
The incident is under investigation. Witnesses or anyone with information on this incident is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
