A 27-year-old Sault Ste. Marie man faces drunk-driving charges after breath tests showed him to be more than twice the legal limit, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Officers pulled over a 2006 Pontiac Grand AM at about 2:20 a.m. on March 9 on Highway 144 in the Chelmsford area.

The investigation revealed that the driver had been drinking. He was arrested and taken to police headquarters for breath tests.

He has been charged with one count each of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and Over 80 mg contrary to the Criminal Code. He was issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and held in custody for a bail hearing.
