Two killed in Lake Wahnapitae boating collision

Greater Sudbury Police and the Ontario Fire Marshall are currently investigating a boating accident that occurred just before 1 a.m. on June 30.

Greater Sudbury Police and the Ontario Fire Marshall are currently investigating a boating accident that occurred just before 1 a.m. on June 30.

Two people were killed, one remains at Health Sciences North in critical condition and one is being treated for non-life threatening injuries after the vessel collided with an island on Lake Wahnapitae.

“Greater Sudbury Police Marine Unit, Traffic Unit, Forensic Unit and Criminal Investigations Unit are at the scene,” a media release from police stated. “No names of the involved persons are being released at this time. Greater Sudbury Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to come forward with the information.”
