Greater Sudbury Police Service conducted a RIDE check Aug. 30 in three locations in the city, Garson/Coniston Road, Barrydowne at Maley Drive and Frood Road at Burton Avenue.

Of the 207 drivers who passed through the check points, one was issued a 24-hour suspension for consuming alcohol while being a class G2 driver. A passenger in that same vehicle was issued a provincial offence notice for having open alcohol inside the vehicle.

As well, ten Highway Traffic Act offences were noted for such things as not wearing a seatbelt. Four screening tests were also administered.
