A 75-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman visiting from the United States received non-life-threatening injuries on Saturday after the vehicle they were in left the roadway on Highway 17 near Warren and struck a hydro pole, said the Ontario Provincial Police.
The collision happened at about 3:40 p.m., causing a power outage in the area.
The highway was closed until Hydro One could attend to deal with live wires on the highway and the vehicle. The West Nipissing Fire Service, Emergency Medical Service and West Nipissing Police Service attended to assist.
Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, said the OPP. Charges are pending.
