Two men were arrested this month after having been caught behind the wheel after consuming alcohol.
A 50-year-old man was charged with impaired on Sept. 9, when officers responded to a possible impaired driver in the area of The Kingsway. At about 11:40 p.m., police stopped a grey 2003 GMC Sierra pickup. The male driver was found to have been drinking.
As a result of the standardized field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested and taken police headquarters. Further breath tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit of alcohol allowed.
He was released from custody and was compelled to attend court on Sept. 18. He was also issued a 90-day licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged for impaired on Sept. 18 after officers responded to an erratic driver. Officers said objects were thrown in their direction from the moving vehicle.
Officers stopped the grey 2008 Ford Escape at about 11:14 p.m., and the male driver was found to have been drinking.
The roadside test resulted in a fail, and the driver was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where breath tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit of alcohol allowed.
