While on patrol on Oct. 6, an OPP officer stopped a vehicle occupied by a 26-year-old man from Sudbury and a 23-year-old woman from Val Caron.
Based on investigative cues observed by the officer, the driver and passenger were found to be in possession of suspected cannabis marijuana controlled substances. They were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
As a result of a search under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act , the officer located and seized about 36 grams of suspected marijuana, along with other drug paraphernalia.
Both have been charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance. They were released from police custody but must attend Provincial Court in Timmins on Dec. 17 to answer to the charges laid against them.
