Police arrest suspect in Chelmsford murder

A 24-year-old suspect was arrested at 4 a.m. this morning in connection with a fatal stabbing Thursday night in Chelmsford. In a release, Greater Sudbury Police Service said they got a call at 8:58 p.m.

A 24-year-old suspect was arrested at 4 a.m. this morning in connection with a fatal stabbing Thursday night in Chelmsford.

In a release, Greater Sudbury Police Service said they got a call at 8:58 p.m. about a stabbing on O’Connor Street in Chelmsford. The 29-year-old male victim was rushed to Health Sciences North, where he was pronounced dead.

“Due to circumstances surrounding this incident, police investigators believe this to be a homicide,” the release said. “Both the victim and the suspect in this incident are known to each other and they are both residents of the City of Greater Sudbury.”

Charges in connection with Thursday's murder “are pending against this individual,” the release said.
