Drunk-driving suspect flees scene of crash

A 30-year-old man was charged with drinking and driving after crashing into a taxi on Dec. 15, said Greater Sudbury Police Service. He failed to remain at the scene of the collision, but was located by police, who determined he had been drinking.

A 30-year-old man was charged with drinking and driving after crashing into a taxi on Dec. 15, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

He failed to remain at the scene of the collision, but was located by police, who determined he had been drinking. He was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where breath tests showed he was more than twice the legal limit.

He was also charged with other Criminal Code offences. His licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He is scheduled for court on Jan. 8 2014.
