Don't forget to validate licence plates: Police

An expired licence plate and a licence plate unauthorized for the vehicle it was on netted several charges for two Sudbury driver, said Greater Sudbury Police Service. On Dec. 18, police stopped a Pontiac Sunfire for equipment violations.

An expired licence plate and a licence plate unauthorized for the vehicle it was on netted several charges for two Sudbury driver, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

On Dec. 18, police stopped a Pontiac Sunfire for equipment violations. The driver was found to be uninsured and had plates unauthorized for that vehicle. The plates were seized, the vehicle was towed and the driver is scheduled to attend court to answer to the charges.

The second vehicle was a commercial motor vehicle found to have an expired validation sticker. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and the transport did not have a valid annual inspection sticker. The plates were seized and the driver was issued two provincial offence notices.
