Drivers charged with impaired on New Year's Eve

Two people were charged with impaired driving on New Year's Eve during Greater Sudbury Police Service's Festive RIDE campaign.

Two people were charged with impaired driving on New Year's Eve during Greater Sudbury Police Service's Festive RIDE campaign.

Officers set up spot checks at Paris Street at Boland Street, Lorne Street at Regent Street, Barrydowne Road and Falconbridge Highway.

Both drivers were issued 90-day licence suspensions.

Officers conducted 16 breath tests and one standard field sobriety test. In total, 669 vehicles were checked.

An additional 13 Highway Traffic Act charges were handed out.
