Two arrested after police seize $15K in drugs

Two people face drug-related charges after police seized about $15,000 in cocaine and oxycodone tablets on Jan. 2, said Greater Sudbury Police Service. Officers stopped a vehicle on Durham Street around 5 p.m. and arrested two occupants.

Two people face drug-related charges after police seized about $15,000 in cocaine and oxycodone tablets on Jan. 2, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Officers stopped a vehicle on Durham Street around 5 p.m. and arrested two occupants. A 24-year-old man, the driver, and a 25-year-old woman, the passenger, were found with 70 grams of cocaine and 140 oxycodone tablets.

They were also found with more than $11,000, which was seized as proceeds of crime.

They both were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. The man also faces two additional counts of driving while under suspension.

They were scheduled for bail court on Jan. 3.
