Police identify pedestrian killed on Municipal Road 80 in Hanmer

The pedestrian killed in a collision on Municipal Road 80 in Hanmer on Jan. 13 has been identified as 37-year-old John Paul Tookata. The traffic management unit is still investigating the collision.

A 37-year-old Hanmer man is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Municipal Road 80 in Hanmer on Jan. 13.

He was a pedestrian. The collision happened at about 11 p.m. at the intersection of St. Joseph Street.

He was taken to Health Sciences North, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

The incident is still under investigation.
