Police dealing with numerous collisions

M.R. 80 has been re-opened to traffic after a multi-vehicle traffic closed the roadway in both directions at approximately 3 p.m. The road was plowed but drivers are asked to used caution due to blowing snow and icy conditions.

The Ontario Provincial Police say Highway 69 to Highway 64 is closed.

Municipal Road 80 is closed in both directions between Tracks and Wheels and Donaldson Drive, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

The road closure is due to numerous motor vehicle conditions resulting from extremely poor road conditions. At least nine collisions had been reported as of 4:30 p.m., said police.

Police are asking motorists to utilize alternate routes and drive with caution.
