Road rage leads to weapons charges

A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly pointing a rifle at another person in a road rage incident, said Greater Sudbury Police Service. Police were called to a weapons complaint in the Garson area at about 9:50 p.m. on Feb. 13.

A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly pointing a rifle at another person in a road rage incident, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Police were called to a weapons complaint in the Garson area at about 9:50 p.m. on Feb. 13. A man alleged that, as a result of a road rage incident, another man had pointed a rifle at him. There were no shots fired and no injuries to those involved.

Officers attending the call saw the accused travelling on foot at about 10:15 p. m. He was arrested without incident. They executed a search warrant this morning and located a firearm at the suspect's apartment.

He is charged with:
-possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
-uttering threats causing death;
-careless use of a firearm;
-dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
-unauthorized possession of a firearm;
-pointing a firearm;
-knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm;
-assault with a weapon;
-firearm used while committing an offence.
