Original release:

A two-vehicle collision has closed Highway 17 near Wahnapitae, the Ontario Provincial Police reported Sunday afternoon.

The road was closed around 2 p.m. Emergency crews had to rescue one person who was trapped inside their vehicle. That person has now been freed and tow trucks are on the scene clearing up debris, police said. Traffic has been reduced to one direction, so travellers should expect delays.

The road was still closed as of 3:30 Sunday afternoon, with no time estimate available for when it would fully reopen to traffic.
