A cab driver was assaulted when he confronted a customer who tried to run without paying his cab fare, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

A cab driver was assaulted when he confronted a customer who tried to run without paying his cab fare, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

A 25-year-old Copper Cliff man was arrested March 2 after he allegedly hit the cab driver several times, causing minor injuries. He then took off on foot.

Police attended the call at 2:45 a.m. The suspect was found at 1 p.m. He faces charges of assault and transportation fraud.

The investigation is ongoing, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.
