Two arrested for robbing Elm Street convenience store

A man and a woman were arrested March 5 for attempting to rob the Kwik-Way on Elm Street, said Greater Sudbury Police Service. The two were outside the store at about 9 a.m., said police.

A man and a woman were arrested March 5 for attempting to rob the Kwik-Way on Elm Street, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

The two were outside the store at about 9 a.m., said police. The woman entered the store, stood inside for a long time acting suspiciously, then left the store.

She came back a short time later, approached the cashier and demanded cigarettes and money.

Both suspects were arrested on scene without incident and are charged with robbery. They were being held for bail court this morning.

Further investigation revealed the man was on three separate probation orders. Subsequently, he was charged with three counts of breach of probation.

No one was injured in this incident.
