A 36-year-old Chelmsford man faces drug charges after he was stopped by West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police on March 12.

At about 4:30 a.m., officers conducting stationary radar on Highway 400 in McDougall Township observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.

Officers pulled over the vehicle, and upon further investigation, it was learned the driver was breaching conditions of a previous criminal code conviction.

After searching the vehicle, officers found and seized marijuana.

The driver is charged with two counts of fail to comply with a probation order and one count of possession of a Schedule II substance – cannabis marijuana – under 30 grams.

He was held for bail court to answer to his charges.
