Four people charged for 2013 TD bank robberies

Three suspects attempted to break into the Sudbury TD branch on July 26; however, their attempt was foiled as they walked in on bank employees already inside the building. There was no interaction between the suspect and the bank employees.

The suspects are also charged with robberies of TD banks in Sault Ste. Marie on March 20, 2013, Cambridge on July 4, 2013 and Stittsville on Sept. 12, 2013.

A 45-year-old man from Gatineau, Que., and a 40-year-old man from Casselman, Ont., are charged in the March 20 robbery.

They are also charged with:
-Have face masked/disguised;
-Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence;
-Mischief under $5,000;
-Use firearm while committing an indictable offence;
-Point a firearm;
-Possess firearm without a licence;
-Possess property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Both men are also charged with two counts of armed robbery in the July 4 and July 26 robberies, as is a 35-year-old man from Gatineau, Que.

They are also charged with:
-Robbery/assault with intent to steal;
-Have face Masked/Disguised (two counts);
-Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence (two counts);
-Mischief under $5,000 (two counts);
-Use firearm while committing an indictable offence (two counts);
-Point a firearm (two counts);
-Possess firearm without a licence (two counts);
-Possess property obtained by crime over $5,000 (two counts);
-Make or possess explosive substance (two counts).

The 45-year-old man from Gatineu, Que., the 35-year-old man from Gatineau, Que., and a 32-year-old man from Montreal, Que. are harged for the Sept. 12, 2013 armed robbery.

They are also charged with:

-Armed robbery;
-Have face masked/disguised;
-Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence;
-Mischief under $5,000;
-Use firearm while committing an indictable offence;
-Possess firearm without a licence;

Three of the suspects are already in custody on matters initiated in Quebec, while the fourth suspect was arrested and held for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice, in Ottawa on March 20.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, Waterloo Regional Police Service, Ottawa Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police, under the direction of Det.-Insp. Paul Yelle, of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch were also involved in the joint investigation.
