G1 driver caught unaccompanied driving at unlawful hour

A 46-year-old Capreol man faces several traffic violations when, as a G1 Class driver, he was caught driving while unaccompanied by a G Class driver.

A 46-year-old Capreol man faces several traffic violations when, as a G1 Class driver, he was caught driving while unaccompanied by a G Class driver.

As per the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, a driver possessing a G1 driver’s licence must have an accompanying G Class licenced person sitting in the front passenger seat.

He was also driving between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m., which is prohibited for a G1-class driver, said the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police.

He was also pulled over at about 2 a.m. on Highway 69 in Shawanaga Township.

He is charged with speeding, having a G1 Class licence and driving unaccompanied by a qualified driver and driving at an unlawful hour.

He was released with Provincial Offence notices.
