This was the scene in Levack on March 18 and 19 after a man went missing. His body has been recovered from Onaping River.

Divers have recovered the body of a missing Levack man, Greater Sudbury Police Service said Friday afternoon.

His body was found in Onaping River about 30 metres from where his personal belongings were found March 18. Police are not releasing more details about this incident.


Police and firefighters were called to the scene at about 5:40 p.m. on March 18. The initial investigation revealed the man left his home earlier in the day, but did not reach his destination.

A family member started searching for him, and noticed a set of single footprints leading towards open water on the river.

Officers called in fire and water rescue and EMS to help with the search. They found personal items belonging to the the missing man next to the open water.
