Man attempts robbery in food court at shopping centre

A 37-year-old man is in police custody after he used a knife to try and rob a woman in the food court at the New Sudbury Shopping Centre, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Security at the mall contacted police on March 31 at 1 p.m. The suspect used an edged weapon in an attempt to steal the victim's wallet. Security intervened and followed the suspect outside the mall, where he was arrested by police.

The woman was not injured.
