Pedestrian struck and seriously injured on Paris

Greater Sudbury Police Service is investigating a collision that happened May 1 between 1-2 a.m. near 700 Paris Street.

A man was walking on the sidewalk. He waved over a southbound silver two-door car, but when the man approached the roadway, he was struck by the passenger side of the vehicle, sending him tumbling along the side of the car.

The car stopped, but no one got out to assist him. The vehicle then drove away.

Injured, the man managed to stumble to Science North, where a security guard found him and called 911. The man was taken to Health Sciences North and treated for serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.

Anyone with information regarding this collision can contact the investigating officer, Const. Etchells, at 675-9171 Ext 7795709.
