Undelivered mail at the Paris Street Canada Post was compromised April 29 when entry by an unknown person or persons was gained to the mail room, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Mail delivery has since resumed to the complex, a spokesperson for Canada Post said May 1.

"The building owners acted pretty quickly to repair the door (to the mail room)," said Phil Legault.

Someone forced their way into the mail room. Canada Post has suspended mail to 1960 B Paris Street. Customers are asked to contact Canada Post at 1-800-267-1177 to confirm their mail has been rerouted.

If residents have concerns that their mail may have been compromised, they are asked to contact any credit card providers or government agencies, advise them of the incident and confirm whether or not the item of concern has been mailed.

They should also check the temporary mail site set up by Canada Post prior to contacting police.

At this time, some victims have already been identified. If someone believes that an item is missing, contact the Greater Sudbury Police Service at 705-675-9171 and make reference to incident No. SU10418197.
