Two women arrested for stealing from vehicles

Two 18-year-old women were arrested early this morning after allegedly breaking into several vehicles on Howey Drive and Van Horne around 2 a.m., said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Two 18-year-old women were arrested early this morning after allegedly breaking into several vehicles on Howey Drive and Van Horne around 2 a.m., said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Police believe they went through vehicles in the areas of Jeanne D'Arc, Morris Street, Howey Drive and Van Horne. When they were arrested, they had on them property from at least three different residences, said police in a news release.

Police ask if anyone has had an overnight theft from their vehicle to report it.

The women were was also found in possession of a quantity of three types of prescription drugs. They are charged with theft, possession of stolen property and possession of drugs.

They will be held in custody for a bail hearing on these matters.

Police remind everyone to lock vehicles when they are unattended even in your driveway.
