The Ontario Provincial Police have released the names of two motorcyclists who died after a highway collision near Sudbury on Saturday evening.
Alain Lacoursiere, 48, and Kerrie Leblanc, 48, both of Val Caron, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which took place between Warren and Hagar around 5 p.m.

Provincial police say a car crossed the centre line on Highway 17 about 5 p.m. Saturday and sideswiped an SUV before striking the motorcycle. The eastbound car continued across the westbound lane and struck a westbound motorcycle head-on.

The 58-year-old male driver of the eastbound car, who is from North Bay, was transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. The 55-year-old female driver of the westbound SUV, from Sudbury and her 57-year-old female passenger, from Callander were not injured.

Police are continuing their investigation and expect to lay charges in connection with the accident. The road reopened at 9:15 Saturday night.
