She was walking with a male friend on Louis Street near St. Joseph Street around 9:30 p.m. They were approached by another couple, with the man brandishing a knife. The woman suspect grabbed the victim's purse. The victim fought back, but was pushed to the ground, kicked and then stabbed in the left side.
Her friend ran after the suspects, but he didn't return. It is believed he was unaware she had been stabbed, said police.
The victim made her way to Health Sciences North.
She was eventually able to reach her friend, who was not able to find the suspects.
Police are asking for help in finding the suspects.
The man is about 22 years old, 5-9 to 6-2, short dark hair, dark complexion and was wearing a dark bandana over his face.
The woman is in her 20s and has shoulder-length hair.
