Greater Sudbury Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed a roadside confrontation between two drivers Aug. 6.

Police are calling it an incidence of road rage.

At around 4:15 p. m. that day, the drivers told police they were following a slow-moving farm vehicle. Police say an attempt to pass the vehicle seems to have resulted in the roadside confrontation, but remain unclear on the details — they are seeking any witnesses to clear up contradictory statements provided by those involved.

The incident occurred in Rayside-Balfour near MR 15 and St. Laurent Street. The vehicles involved were a black pickup truck and a white van with company decals on the side.

Police say allegedly one vehicle may have struck the driver of the other vehicle. Both parties left the area on their own and independently contacted police.

An officer has spoken to both drivers, but conflicting statements were provided and GSPS is looking for an independent version of the events from witnesses.

Anyone with information can call police at 705-675-9171 to leave contact information for investigating officer, Cst. Marc Belanger. Police ask callers to reference incident number SU14035822.
