Driver faces careless driving charges following Kingsway crash

Greater Sudbury Police's traffic management unit have laid careless driving charges following a crash on The Kingsway on Sept. 14.

Police obtained evidence from the scene and witness statements, prompting the decision to charge the driver of the pickup truck with careless driving. The driver of the car is recovering from serious injuries.

The busy roadway was closed for several hours Sunday afternoon following the three-vehicle crash, one of which was a police cruiser. When Northern Life visited the scene of the accident Sept. 14, one SUV had a severely damaged front end, while a pickup truck was damaged on its side.

An unmarked white police SUV also involved in the collision did not appear to have sustained much damage.
